Homemade Body Scrub

Homemade body scrubs are an easy way to exfoliate without all the harsh chemicals. And with ingredients like brown sugar, extra virgin olive oil, and lemon zest you can find everything you need to make them right in your kitchen!

I love these body scrubs from one of my favorite chefs – Paula Deen. Her Citrus Salt and Brown Sugar Body Scrubs can easily be mixed together, placed into jam jars, and tied with the cutest of ribbons.

And they make the most perfect gifts!

Let’s Get It On

I tell everyone I know that they should be wearing sunscreen every day.

That’s right… every day.

As we look forward to autumn it may be easy to forget that we’re still very much in the midst of summer, and that the sun’s rays are strong. It’s important that we remember this for two reasons:

1) Sun damage causes skin cancer. (Over 65 percent of all melanoma cancer comes from UV exposure from the sun. – Skin Cancer Foundation)

2) Sun damage causes wrinkles. (You may not care about this one now… but ladies, no one wants to have a face like a leather couch when they’re only 35.)

It’s easier than you think to be protected. Just wear sunscreen! Personally, I use an SPF moisturizer with UVA and UVB protection every day (even in the winter)! When putting on sunscreen becomes part of your daily beauty routine it’s that much easier to keep yourself safe.
