I am obsessed with everything about this ring from Elizabeth and James. From the moment I saw this fine accessory I knew I had to post it on this blog. The Olsen twins have done it again.
First, I love the geometric qualities of this ring. I’m a really big fan of clear lines and hard angles, and this ring has both. Second, fashion exists to make the person wearing it feel confident and comfortable with themselves, I think this accessory is a great example of that. Something about this ring says “I’m in charge” and I love that about it. I would wear this ring on a job interview for a little added strength.
There are some other truly stunning pieces the Elizabeth and James fall 2011 collection. I suggest you check them out!
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I’m a total nerd when it comes to office and school supplies. Show me an aisle full of pretty pens and Post-it Notes and I’m in heaven.
For today, in honor of my last first day of school ever, I present you with some of the most interesting office supplies that I’ve come across to date:
This Nendo DATA Clip functions as both a paper clip and a flash drive so you’ll be sure to use it often and never misplace it!
I’m in love with the geometric prints on these Dabney Lee office folders. They make me want to organize everything!
If you’re anywhere near as obsessed with Post-it Notes as I am then the Pebble Collection for 3M is for you! This is by far the chicest way to keep Post-its and tape on your desk. Also, Karim Rashid, the designer of the Pebble Collection, is absolutely incredible. I literally got lost in his website for a solid 20 minutes.
This DCI “I am not a paper cup…” speaks for itself. It’s an eco-friendly alternative to a paper coffee cup; you can be green and get your caffeine fix at the same time.
What fun office supplies will you be picking up for school?

It’s no secret that I
am obsessed with watch The Rachel Zoe Project and am an enormous fan of Rachel Zoe herself. (For those of you not in the know: 1) Shame on you and 2) Rachel Zoe is a celebrity stylist slash fashion know all (literally all) for celebs such as Cameron Diaz, Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson, etc. etc.) ie. She is fabulous.
And this fall we common folk can be fabulous too, because Rachel Zoe has come out with her first ready-to-wear line for the upcoming season. Get your credit cards out because I’m going to show you a few of my favorite pieces!
(Above) The double-breasted jacket in the middle is my absolute favorite piece in the collection. It’s edgy and streamlined, but still feminine. As for the two looks on the left, I would wear both of them to a New Year’s party in a heartbeat.
(Below) I love the preppy/retro cardigan right-center, and all of the layering in the flirty red party dress… and of course, all of the shoes.
Overall, I can’t find a single piece in this tailored, 1970s-inspired collection that I wouldn’t wear. With the pieces already selling in numerous places across the country, I imagine the collection will be an extraordinary success for her. I can’t wait to tune in to the newest season of The Rachel Zoe Project (starting September 6th – expect a post, of course) and see if there are any mentions of the collection’s production in the first episode.
Until then, I think we’d all agree, this collection…is…bananas.
With fall right around the corner, I can’t help but start to have food fantasies about pumpkin flavored everything. Pumpkin lattes, pumpkin pie, and delicious pumpkin bread. So let’s all take a moment to thank the food gods for this tasty treat I’m about to share with you:
A pumpkin bread with chocolate chips in it!
This recipe is an easy way to welcome back the cooler seasons. It’s a spicy/sweet bread that can be eaten for a snack, for dessert, or even for breakfast. If you bring this pumpkin bread with you to work for lunch, you will be the envy of everyone with a boring bag of chips.

I have always wanted a pickup truck.
Of course it’s pretty impractical for city life, but something about a girl driving a truck makes her seems so strong and ready to tackle anything the world throws her way. If I had a truck, I’d love to drive it on an open road, windows down, music playing, and hair blowing in the wind.
Totally cliche, but totally true.
If you could have any car what would it be?
I’m just a little in love with these boat shoes for fall. They’re definitely not the most feminine of shoes, but I think that makes them even more appealing and interesting. Imagine how cute they could look with the right sweater and a loose braid in your hair! Something about the boat shoe feels so classic and vintage to me. I plan on getting a pair ASAP.
And the best thing about the boat shoe? They come in a variety of colors, sizes, and prices. The ones featured above from the top are: Bass, $119; L.L. Bean Signature, $69; L.L. Bean, $49; Bass, $119.

Homemade body scrubs are an easy way to exfoliate without all the harsh chemicals. And with ingredients like brown sugar, extra virgin olive oil, and lemon zest you can find everything you need to make them right in your kitchen!
I love these body scrubs from one of my favorite chefs – Paula Deen. Her Citrus Salt and Brown Sugar Body Scrubs can easily be mixed together, placed into jam jars, and tied with the cutest of ribbons.
And they make the most perfect gifts!
